bodyThe practitioners at RIT provide a holistic healing space for each person to be able to journey to a balanced place of health, wellness, and wholeness. We believe that the body has the amazing ability to heal itself. Our focus is to bring the body and mind to the place of remembering how to heal, and therefore, the natural healing process is restored.

What interferes with the natural every day process of healing?

Why do we have chronic conditions that do not seem to heal?

The answers are different for each person, however the process of being out of balance and feeling in a state of dis-ease, starts with the stress response. We all experience stress reactions to daily life situations. This puts our nervous system on alert so we can respond to the situation quickly. If we do not come out of the stress response mode (also known as fight or flight), our nervous system remains in a continual state of tension and uncertainty.

If you are in the stress response mode, your body and mind are focused on running away from danger or staying to fight. Either mode puts our physiology into alert mode. Our adrenaline and cortisol levels increase and other systems slow down activity, especially our digestive and immune systems. These systems may have decreased awareness for years, due to multiple stress reactions that never rebalance to the calm, rest, digest mode.

When our nervous system is able to focus on all systems in the body and mind, health is restored. This leads us to another question. What controls the nervous system? Our Mind is what controls the nervous system.

Our thoughts and beliefs about an event and about life directly affect our physiology. The therapy systems utilized by the practitioners at RIT address the body and the mind in order to identify the stress related factors creating the physiological responses that lead to dis-ease and imbalance. The mind includes both the conscious mind and subconscious mind (which holds every memory and life experience). By highlighting beliefs and thought processes that are no longer relevant to your life today, your mind releases the charge around the thoughts and your body’s physiology restores to a state of health.
